As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be the No.1 QS on site, with the support of an Assistant QS and a Trainee QS whilst reporting into a Commercial Director.
About Us:
Our esteemed client has been a cornerstone of the construction industry for over a century, with a track record of delivering prestigious projects and setting the standard for quality. They typically have between 10-15 projects at any given time and these range in value between £50-£150mil. Many of the staff have been with the company for 20+ years and this shows the continuity on offer for the right candidate.
Your Role:
As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in leading projects from pre-construction to final account. With a focus on high-end residential developments within the M25, your first site assignment will be a £70 million apartment block in South London, where construction has recently commenced.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement rigorous cost control measures, managing budgets for high-value residential developments.
Lead and mentor a dedicated team, including an Assistant QS and Trainee QS.
Oversee projects across London, ensuring successful delivery within the M25.
Navigate the complexities of projects, driving them from pre-construction through to final account.
Collaborate effectively with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
Implement strategic procurement and contract management strategies.
Requirements:
Background in either contracting or development, demonstrating proficiency in leading teams and projects.
Proven experience in managing high-end residential developments, ideally up to £50 million.
Exceptional leadership skills, accustomed to working at a rapid pace.
Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
Adept at navigating the challenges of large and demanding projects.
